Get ready to roll

Before a first ride, inspect the board and verify the trucks, wheels and hardware are secure. Wear a well-fitted helmet and appropriate protective gear. Start on a dry, open, permitted surface away from traffic, people, slopes and obstacles.

Find your footing

Place one foot over the front trucks, push gently with the other foot and practice balancing and stepping off at low speed. Learn controlled stopping before progressing. Avoid tricks, hills and crowded areas until you have the skill and suitable equipment.

After the session
